Welcome...

We are not natural social media types, we generally stay rather quite about what we do. This is our first newsletter and we have been in business for over 20 years!

So what have we got to shout about? Our new studio is very close to completion which means we can put it to great use. Primarily it will facilitate our work, but it also provides the opportunity to share it with emerging and established designers who can hire it to work on their collections or employ us to manufacture for them.

We are also offering tuition and business advice for people considering starting a business in the textile sector.

One of the most wonderful things we are introducing is a brand new Days For Girls group; the Mossley Group. We are proud to be part of Days for Girls; an international NGO with volunteers all over the world who sew and create the period pad packs for girls in need. Days for Girls also provide a menstrual health education programme that boosts confidence and empowers young women and girls.

We will meet on the first Saturday of each month and sew kits. We are currently looking for people with sewing skills to volunteer and spent from 1 to 6 hours with us on kit-making days. We will raise funds to purchase the materials required and work to the DfGs design using their templates and following their construction techniques to ensure our kits match those made across the world. The experience they have ensures the kits are fit for purpose and we are delighted to bring our exacting standards to such a wonderful project. We require people with all skill levels, there will be lots of steps to making a kit: cutting out, construction, finishing, ironing, packing and of course lots of tea and cake. We will start at 10am and finish at 4pm, however if you only have an hour to spare it will be great to see you. Our first sewing day is Saturday 6 May 2023. We are excited for our future, not too much time will be lavished on social media! We love designing, sewing and making things. I guess we are just more social then social media.
